Our Management Team

The team at ENCORE Vineyards consists of top professionals from a variety of industries. The collective knowledge of our team spans decades, and their accomplishments are noted throughout their respective business sectors. We're fortunate to have acquired such a skilled management team and Board of Directors to guide ENCORE through this growth period and into our future endeavors.


Harry McWatters • 1945 - 2019

Harry was a 51-year veteran of the thriving British Columbia wine industry. In 1980 he founded Sumac Ridge Estate Winery, the first estate winery in the province; subsequently, he founded See Ya Later Ranch Estate winery in 1995. When Harry sold both operations to Vincor Canada in 2000, he remained President of Sumac Ridge and See Ya Later Ranch and was a Vice President of Vincor Canada until he “retired” in 2008 and established the Vintage Consulting Group. Since, Harry has launched TIME Estate Winery and the McWatters Collection. He co-developed the ENCORE Vineyards Ltd. business model.

Instrumental in founding VQA Canada and serving as its first chairman, Harry is also the founding chair of the BC Wine Information Society, the BC Hospitality Foundation, and numerous festivals and events
focused on the BC wine industry. Harry received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Okanagan
University College and in 2003 received the prestigious Order of British Columbia for his services to the
BC wine industry.

Christa-Lee McWatters Bond •  President & Chief Executive Officer

Christa-Lee has been part of the BC wine industry since birth. Growing up as the daughter of BC wine ambassador Harry McWatters included an upbringing that instilled in her a true appreciation and love of wine. She worked in the family business throughout her school years and in 1995 became a sales representative for Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards. In 2000 both operations were acquired by Vincor International and Christa-Lee was named BC Sales Manager for the newly formed Sumac Ridge Estates Wine Group. Later, she was promoted to Marketing Manager for Sumac Ridge Estate Winery, See Ya Later Ranch, Nk’Mip Cellars, Osoyoos Larose, Okanagan Vineyards and the Great Estates of the Okanagan, where she was responsible for all marketing initiatives and on-site hospitality programs. Christa-Lee worked with the Vintage Consulting group in 2010 to provide management consulting services on sales and marketing aspects of the wine business. She joined ENCORE at the start of 2015.

Graham Pierce •  Director of Winemaking

With more than a decade of experience producing award-winning wines in the Okanagan, Graham Pierce is ENCORE Vineyards director of winemaking. Graham’s in-depth understanding of the Okanagan wine region and extensive winery operation knowledge, combined with his viticulture and winemaking experience, has allowed him to maximize the freshness of hand-picked and harvested grapes to create aromatic whites and balanced, big reds that truly express the terroir of BC.



Chef AK Campbell • Executive Chef

Executive Chef Alexander Keith Campbell, also known as AK, is the new creative force behind the small plate program at TIME Winery.
Chef AK also oversees the catering and events menu at Evolve Cellars, after joining ENCORE from an extensive background in hotels, resorts, and wineries. Chef AK previously led kitchen teams at Vintage Hospitality, Naramata Inn and Spa, Truffle Pigs Bistro & Lodge, and Heather Mountain Lodge Resort.
Chef AK believes in the importance of simplicity in his use of ingredients and working with the seasons to make his dishes truly shine.

Kelley Schaefer • Hospitality Manager

With more than 20 years’ experience in the wine industry, Schaefer’s wine career began after completing the Okanagan College Oenology program in 1995. He then went on to work several vintages at numerous wineries in the Okanagan. This led to international tenures as head sommelier and wine director on Cunard Cruise Line’s QM2, at luxury resorts in the Maldives, Starwood Hotels in Dubai, the Tokyo American Club in Tokyo, Japan (which he considers his second home), and most recently as corporate head sommelier and wine educator for luxury cruise line Seabourn.
Schaefer is in charge of all hospitality programs, guest services, special events, and the wine club for ENCORE Vineyards’ brands, including TIME Winery, Evolve Cellars and McWatters Collection.

Chelsea Dumayne • Event Sales Coordinator

Chelsea joined ENCORE in the Spring of 2017 with over 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry behind her. She has worked with such companies as Delta Hotels, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Tourism Whistler/The Whistler Conference Centre, and as a result, gained extensive meeting and event planning knowledge. As Event Sales Coordinator for ENCORE, Chelsea is responsible for managing the planning and implementation of the various events at both TIME Winery & Kitchen and Evolve Cellars.

Gina Gagné • Wine Club Manager

Since completing the Wine Sales Certificate at Okanagan College in 2012, Gina has remained within the Wine Industry. Gina loves the Okanagan Valley and is passionate in the wine that is produced there. After leaving Hillside Winery in 2016, Gina has since been our Wine Club Manager here at ENCORE Vineyards.
